Periodic Table
of Elements - X-ray properties
A clickable table of elements. This table provides various x-ray properties
for each element and it has also a script for calculating x-ray cross
sections for a give energy.
Atomic
Spectroscopic Database (from NIST)
This database provides access and search capability for critically evaluated
data on atomic energy levels, wavelengths, and transition probabilities
that are reasonably up-to-date. The Atomic Energy Levels Data Center
and Data Center on Atomic Transition Probabilities and Line Shapes have
carried out these critical compilations.

ParticleAdventure.org : A Tour of
the Inner Workings of the Atom and the Tools for Discovery
The Particle Adventure is an award-winning site
that introduces the theory of fundamental particles and forces, called
the Standard Model. It also explores the experimental evidence and the
reasons physicists want to go beyond this theory. Available in English,
Spanish and French. Sponsored by the Particle Data Group, with funding
from the U.S. Department of Energy and the National Science Foundation.
PhysLink, a
site that links you to the latest news from various physics institutions
and societies, reviews of science software, images of physicists, quotations,
cartoons and physics humour, etc.
The
Basics of MRI, by Dr. Joseph P. Hornak. This is an online tutorial
explains the physics behind magnetic resonance images and the mathematics
of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance. It includes a section on glossary
and symbols .

Applets
Gallery
Java applets that demonstrate physics and math concepts. By Greg Egan.
Electromagnetism
in animation
This site teaches electromagnetism using animations.
It has video clips showing magnetic field line billowing out from charged
objects and current-carrying wires. Experiements showing Faraday's
Law, radiation, electrostatics and magnetostatics. Very cool images.
Produced by Professors John Belcher and Stanislaw Olbert and Mark Bessette
at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology
Physics 2000
Physics 2000 relies heavily on the use of interactive "applets
to explain physics to a wide audience. It uses cartoon characters
to explain the physics and students can set in motion or adjust these
clever Java "experiments".
Physics
applet by the Department of Physics, University of Oregon, is a
collection of Java applet which explains physics, astronomy and environmental
sciences. This is an interactive site with Java "experiments".

Berkeley Physics Lecture Demonstrations
This site contains many of the old, classic, well-known favorite,
as a well as new, physics demonstrations. Produced by the University
of California Physics Department at Berkeleys for their undergraduates.
Subject includes from astronomy to magnetism to waves.
Biography
Contributions of 20th Century Women
in High Energy Physics
This is an
archive of more than 75 citations of 20th century women who have made
original and important contributions to physics. The citations describe
briefly and document major scientific contributions and some biographical
information mainly pertaining to the scientific lives of the women.

Segrè Visual Archives
A collection of some 25,000 historical photographs, slides, lithographs,
engravings, and other visual materials on American physicists and astronomers
of the twentieth century, as well as many scientists in Europe and elsewhere,
in other fields related to physics, and in earlier times. This
is part of the Niels Bohr Library of the Center for History of Physics
at the American Institute of Physics.
Einstein Year
2005
Einstein Year is all about getting young people excited about physics,
exploding the myth that physicists are white, middle-aged men with mad
hair, and highlighting the huge contribution of contemporary physics
to society. By Institute of Physics
