ABI/Inform Complete (Proquest)

In ABI/Inform:

  1. Perform search as normal.
  2. Mark references to be imported into EndNote Web.
  3. Click on Export.
  4. Click on Export directly to ProCite, EndNote or Rference Manager
  5. Save the file as a [.ris] Document onto your desktop.  

In EndNote Web:

  1. Click on the tab Collect. Click on Import References.
  2. Under File:, click on Browse button and select the saved file from your desktop.
  3. Under Filter:, click on the dropdown listbox and select ProQuest.
  4. Click on Import.
  5. Click on the tab My References.
  6. Your references will appear in the “Unfiled” folder.

ACM Digital Library

In ACM Digital Library:

  1. Perform search as normal.
  2. Click on full citation to view the article.
  3. Click on EndNote in the Display Formats.
  4. Save the file as a .enw document onto your desktop.

In EndNote Web:

  1. Click on the tab Collect. Click on Import References.
  2. Under File:, click on Browse button and select the saved file from your desktop.
  3. Under Filter:, click on the dropdown listbox and select ACM Digital Library.
  4. Click on Import.
  5. Click on the tab My References.
  6. Your references will appear in the “Unfiled” folder.

NOTE:
Currently, you can only export one citation at a time in each .enw document, which has to be imported individually into EndNote Web (http://portal.acm.org/faq_dl.cfm#14). For batch importing of multiple citations, you can combine multiple .enw documents into a single document (e.g. by using Notepad to copy and paste all citations into one document), making sure that you leave a single empty line in between citations.

AIDS and Cancer Research Abstracts

In AIDS and Cancer Research Abstracts:

  1. Perform search as normal.
  2. Mark references to be imported into EndNote Web.
  3. Click on the Save, Print, Email.
  4. Click on the Save button.  
  5. Save the file as a .txt file onto your desktop.  

In EndNote Web:

  1. Click on the tab Collect. Click on Import References.
  2. Under File:, click on Browse button and select the saved file from your desktop.
  3. Under Filter:, click on the dropdown listbox and select the import filter AIDS Cancer Res Abs (CSA).
  4. Click on Import.
  5. Click on the tab My References
  6. Your references will appear in the “Unfiled” folder.

In ASFA:

  1. Perform search as normal.
  2. Mark references to be imported into EndNote Web.
  3. Click on the Save, Print, Email.
  4. Click on the Save button.  
  5. Save the file as a .txt file onto your desktop.  

In EndNote Web:

  1. Click on the tab Collect. Click on Import References.
  2. Under File:, click on Browse button and select the saved file from your desktop.
  3. Under Filter:, click on the dropdown listbox and select the import filter ASFA (CSA).
  4. Click on Import.
  5. Click on the tab My References
  6. Your references will appear in the “Unfiled” folder.

Avery Index to Architectural Periodicals (BiblioLine)

In Avery Index:

  1. Perform search as normal.
  2. Mark references to be imported into EndNote Web.
  3. Click on Output tab to view list of marked references.
  4. Click on Export to databases button. Select ProCite.
  5. Save the file as a .ris document onto your desktop.

In EndNote:

  1. Click on the tab Collect. Click on Import References.
  2. Under File:, click on Browse button and select the saved file from your desktop.
  3. Under Filter:, click on the dropdown listbox and select RefMan RIS.
  4. Click on Import.
  5. Click on the tab My References
  6. Your references will appear in the “Unfiled” folder.

Bibliography of Asian Studies

In Bibliography of Asian Studies (BAS):

  1. Perform search as normal.
  2. Click on add a bookbag to save the record(s).
  3. The bookbag should open in another window. If not, click on the bookbag menu bar to display it.
  4. After saving the records, go to the Bookbag window and click on Download Documents button.
  5. Save the file as a .txt file onto your desktop.

    In EndNote Web:
     
  6. Click on the tab Collect. Click on Imported References.
  7. Under File; click on Browse button and select the saved file from your desktop.
  8. Under Filter: click on the dropdown listbox and select the import filter Bib of Asian Studies.
  9. Click on Import.
  10. Click on the tab My References.
  11. The references will appear in the "Unfiled" folder.

  1. Perform search as normal.
  2. Mark references to be imported into EndNote Web.
  3. Click on the button labeled 存盘.
  4. Click on the hyperlink RefWorks.
  5. Click Save. Save the file to your desktop.

In EndNote Web:

  1. Click on the tab Collect. Click on Import References.
  2. Under File:, click on Browse button and select the saved file from your desktop.
  3. Under Filter:, click on the dropdown listbox and select RefWorks Import.
  4. Click on Import.
  5. Click on the tab My References
  6. Your references will appear in the “Unfiled” folder.

In CINAHL:

  1. Next to the record to be saved, click the folder icon Add
  2. Click on the hyperlink Folder has items at the top area. Saved records will be shown.
  3. Click on Export
  4. Select Generic Bibliographic Management Software
  5. Click Save
  6. At the browser’s menu bar, Click File – Save As…
  7. Select a location and Type a file name.
  8. Save as type: Text File (*.txt)
  9. Save

In EndNote Web:

  1. Click on the tab Collect. Click on Import References.
  2. Under File:, click on Browse button and select the saved file from your desktop.
  3. Under Filter:, click on the dropdown listbox and select CINAHL (Ebsco).
  4. Click on Import.
  5. Click on the tab My References
  6. Your references will appear in the “Unfiled” folder.

In Communication & Mass Media Complete:

  1. Perform search as normal.
  2. Mark references to be imported into EndNote Web.

  3. At the bottom of the screen, click on the icon Export Selected Citations.
  4. Export Type: Abstract and Citation
  5. File type: PC
  6. Click Go
  7. Save the file as RIS formatted file onto your desktop.

In EndNote Web:

  1. Click on the tab Collect
  2. Click on Import References.
  3. Under File:, browse and select the saved file from your desktop.
  4. Under Filter:, select Cochrane Library (Wiley)
  5. Click on Import
  6. Click on the tab My References
  7. Your references will appear in the “Unfiled” folder.

In Compendex:

  1. Perform search as normal.
  2. Mark references to be imported into EndNote Web.
  3. Click on Download.
  4. Click on RIS, EndNote, ProCite, Reference Manager and click on Download
  5. Save the file as a .ris document onto your desktop.  

In EndNote Web:

  1. Click on the tab Collect. Click on Import References.
  2. Under File:, click on Browse button and select the saved file from your desktop.
  3. Under Filter:, click on the dropdown listbox and select RefMan RIS.
  4. Click on Import.

  2. Under File:, click on Browse button and select the saved file from your desktop.
  3. Under Filter:, click on the dropdown listbox and select the import filter for the database, eg. ERIC (CSA).
  4. Click on Import.
  5. Click on the tab My References

  1. Perform search as normal.

  3. Click on Folder has items.

  1. Perform search as normal.

  3. In the left column, under Result Format, select Reprint/Medlars
  4. Under Actions, click on Save.
  5. In the next screen, the default "Windows Style Linefeeds" is selected.
  6. Click on Continue. Save the file to your desktop.

In EndNote Web:

  1. Click on the tab Collect. Click on Import References.
  2. Under File:, click on Browse button and select the saved file from your desktop.
  3. Under Filter:, click on the dropdown listbox and select EconLit (OVID).
  4. Click on Import.
  5. Click on the tab My References
  6. Your references will appear in the “Unfiled” folder.

For EndNote Desktop versions lesser than X.02.

In EndNote (Desktop):

  1. Open your library in EndNote (desktop).
  2. In the Output Style drop-down listbox in the Style Toolbar, click Select Another Style... to open the Output Style manager.
  3. Select EndNote Export and click the Choose button.
  4. Select Export from the File menu.
  5. In the Save As dialog, name the file in the File Name field and browse to the desired file location.
  6. Save the file as a .txt file onto your desktop.

In EndNote Web:

  1. Click on the tab Collect. Click on Import References.
  2. Under File:, click on Browse button and select the saved file from your desktop.
  3. Under Filter:, click on the dropdown listbox and select EndNote Import.
  4. Click on Import.
  5. Click on the tab My References
  6. Your references will appear in the “Unfiled” folder.

  4. Click on Citations Tools.
  5. Select EndNote and click on Export.
  6. Save the file as a .ris Document onto your desktop.

In EndNote Web:

  1. Click on the tab Collect. Click on Import References.

Records cannot be imported from Factiva into EndNote Web at this time.

In F1000 Medicine:

  1. Perform search as normal.
  2. Mark references to be imported into EndNote Web.
  3. Look for the "Send" button at the top area. At the right of this button, make sure "EndNote" is selected.
  4. Click on "Send" button. Click on "Save".
  5. Save the file onto your desktop.

In EndNote Web:

  1. Click on the tab Collect. Click on Import References.
  2. Under File:, click on Browse button and select the saved file from your desktop.
  3. Under Filter:, click on the dropdown listbox and select Faculty of 1000.
  4. Click on Import.
  5. Click on the tab My References
  6. Your references will appear in the “Unfiled” folder.

FIAF: International Film Archive Database

In FIAF: International Film Archive Database:

  1. Perform search as normal.
  2. Mark references to be imported into EndNote Web.
  3. Click on the Save diskette icon at the top of the results screen.
  4. Under Save or Export Records, select Save to disk.
  5. Under Save these fields, select Complete Record.
  6. Under Also Save, deselect Search History.
  7. Ensure that Field Names drop-down menu is set to Short Labels. Then click ok at the top of the screen.
  8. Save the file as an .dat Document onto your desktop.  

In EndNote Web:

  1. Click on the tab Collect. Click on Import References.
  2. Under File:, click on Browse button and select the saved file from your desktop.
  3. Under Filter:, click on the dropdown listbox and select Zoological Record(SP).
  4. Click on Import.
  5. Click on the tab My References
  6. Your references will appear in the “Unfiled” folder.

Food Science & Technology Abstracts (FSTA)

In Food Science & Technology Abstracts (FSTA):

  1. Perform search as normal.
  2. Mark references to be imported into EndNote Web.
  3. Click on the diskette icon (screen top right)
  4. Click on Save to disk, and click on OK
  5. Save the file as an .dat Document onto your desktop.  

In EndNote Web:

  1. Click on the tab Collect. Click on Import References.
  2. Under File:, click on Browse button and select the saved file from your desktop.
  3. Under Filter:, click on the dropdown listbox and select FSTA (SP).
  4. Click on Import.
  5. Click on the tab My References
  6. Your references will appear in the “Unfiled” folder.

In a Gale InfoTrac database:

  1. Perform search as normal.
  2. Mark references to be imported into EndNote Web.
  3. Click on View mark list.
  4. Click on E-mail address. Email the references to yourself.
  5. When the email arrives in your inbox, save the file as a .txt file onto your desktop.

In EndNote Web:

  1. Click on the tab Collect. Click on Import References.
  2. Under File:, click on Browse button and select the saved file from your desktop.
  3. Under Filter:, click on the dropdown listbox and select MLA Intl Bib (Gale).
  4. Click on Import.
  5. Click on the tab My References
  6. Your references will appear in the “Unfiled” folder.

In Geobase:

  1. Perform search as normal.
  2. Mark references to be imported into EndNote Web.

  1. Perform search as normal.
  2. Mark references to be imported into EndNote Web.
  3. Click on EndNote/RIS for Export citation.
  4. Save the file as an .enw Document onto your desktop.  

In EndNote Web:

  1. Click on the tab Collect. Click on Import References.
  2. Under File:, click on Browse button and select the saved file from your desktop.
  3. Under Filter:, click on the dropdown listbox and select EndNote Import.
  4. Click on Import.
  5. Click on the tab My References
  6. Your references will appear in the “Unfiled” folder.

Google Scholar

In Google Scholar:

  1. Click on the Scholar Preferences link which is located next to the Search box.
  2. In the Preferences window, scroll down to Bibliography Manager and choose the option: Show links to import citations into.....
  3. Select EndNote in the drop-down menu.
  4. Click on the Save Preferences button. Now when you undertake a Google Scholar search, you will see an Import into EndNote link after each reference.
  5. To save a Google Scholar reference into your EndNote library, click on the Import into EndNote link.
  6. Save the file as a .enw Document onto your desktop.

Note: Setting preferences will not work if you have disabled cookies in your browser.

In EndNote Web:

  1. Click on the tab Collect. Click on Import References.
  2. Under File:, click on Browse button and select the saved file from your desktop.
  3. Under Filter:, click on the dropdown listbox and select EndNote Import.
  4. Click on Import.
  5. Click on the tab My References
  6. Your references will appear in the “Unfiled” folder.

NOTE:

For batch importing of multiple citations, you can combine multiple .enw documents into a single document (e.g. by using Notepad to copy and paste all citations into one document), making sure that you leave a single empty line in between citations.
